The Gironde Line, for Tarkett North America
A flooring concept using a wooden door from the Chartron neighborhood of Bordeaux as inspiration for the LVT. The rug is designed after the tidal pools of Saint Palais. This space also uses our routed walnut panels and features a Ray Table. Image by Nathan Dreimiller.
I am excited to announce a collaboration with internationally-respected flooring designer Tarkett North America, who recently acquired a carpeting company called Lexmark. I will be partnering with their talented cadre of designers over the next few months to design a line of LVT (luxury vinyl tile), as well as a corresponding line of carpeting to celebrate the new partnership.
One week from today, I’ll be traveling back to Bordeaux where I’ll spend about two weeks cataloguing textures and materials and sketching up ideas for this really invigorating collaboration. Tarkett’s genealogy is French, and their commitment to creating sustainable, rich, storied products dovetails nicely with my own interests.

Our goal with this line is to create an interesting and texturally deep set of designs that add story and uniqueness to the spaces in which it’s used.
The line, called Gironde after the French region that inspired it, will launch at BDNY in November. Below are some concept sketches, and I’ll be writing about the line throughout its development process.
Stay tuned for more!
